Three Killed, Five Injured in Ohio Highway Accident

Sugarcreek, Ohio. — Three persons were killed and five seriously injured May 13 in a head-on crash of two autos on US-250 west of Mt. Eaton.

Dead are Mrs. Levi M. (Susan) Troyer, 49, of rural Fredericksburg, James B. Kimball, 38, and his daughter Wendy, 15, of Marion. Injured were Miss Verna M. Mast, 55, sister of Mrs. Troyer, who was in critical condition in a Canton hospital; Lisa Troyer, three-year-old daughter of the Levi Troyers; Mrs. Betty Jane Kimball, 35, her daughter Karen, 8, and son, Jeff, 11.

Miss Mast and Mrs. Troyer were returning home from Strasburg where they had purchased a marker for their mother's grave when the car driven my Miss Mast struck the left rear of an oncoming car and then hit the Kimball car head-on. It was reported that a tire blew out on the Mast auto.

Funeral services for Mrs. Troyer were held May 17 at the Fairlawn Mennonite Church of which she was a member. Besides her husband and sister, she leaves a son and five daughters, all of the home, another sister, Mrs. Martha Wengerd, and a brother, Abe Mast of Phoenix, Ariz.
