Retired Grocer Dies In Highway Crash

J. N. KAUFMAN, 71, KILLED IN COLLISION NEAR MOUNDRIDGE, KAN.

Moundridge, Kan. — J. N. Kaufman, 71, well-known retired grocer here, was fatally injured in a two-car collision on Highway 81 near Moundridge last Saturday evening, July 2.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the First Mennonite church of Christian with Rev. Edmund Miller officiating.

The car driven by Kaufman collided with one driven by a Wichita motorist. Brought to Mercy hospital here with injuries were Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Bennett and J. C. Garnett, all of Wichita, and Warren D. Hoffman, a passenger in the Kaufman car.

A native of this community, Mr. Kaufman is survived by his widow, Linda; three sons, Raymond of Moundridge, Milford of Bartlesville, Okla., and Orville of Wichita; and two daughters, Mrs. Paul Hatfield and Viola Kaufman, both of Moundridge.
