text of obituary:

Kaufman — Emilie E. Kaufman, wife of Jacob N. Kaufman, was born at Moundridge, Kansas, on February 18, 1893, and here she passed away on March 26, 1931, at the age of 38 years, 1 month and 8 days.

Early in life she accepted Christ in faith and on July 26, 1908 was accepted through baptism into the First Mennonite church of Christian at Moundridge, Kansas. She was a member of this congregation at the time of her death.

On September 17, 1911 she was married to Jacob N. Kaufman. Into their home eight children were born, three of whom passed away in infancy. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother.

Her illness was of short duration. In her pains she looked unto the Lord for help. She trusted in His saving grace and assured her dear ones that death would usher her into Christ's presence. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, three sons, her parents, six sisters and six brothers, who with many other relative and friends mourn her early departure. Her death will be keenly felt especially by her family.

The wife and mother pass away,
     The Christ with us abides.
In Him she found a strength and stay,
     He lingered by her side.
She trusted Him who for her died.
     Her death beings us deep pain.
Christ be our help whate'er betide;
     In heaven we'll meet again.

Herbert A. Goering, Cor.
