MRS. ANNA J. KAUFMAN

Anna Miller Kaufman was born to John F. and Anna Ries Miller on Dec. 14, 1899 on a farm in Turner County, South Dakota. In addition to her grade school education she attended Freeman Academy for two years.

On Sept. 10, 1916 she was baptized upon the confession of her faith by Rev. A. P. Waltner, after which she became a member of the Salem Zion Church.

She was united in marriage to Oliver Kaufman on March 17, 1927 by Rev. W. S. Gottschall. To this union were born four children, Jean Ann, Maurice, Leslie, and Wayne.

In 1930 she transferred her church membership to the Salem Church where she remained a faithful and active member until she went to meet her beloved Redeemer. She died on Jan. 5, 1963, thus bringing her life span to 63 years and 21 days.

She was preceded in death by her youngest son in his infancy. She leaves to mourn one daughter, Jean Ann Unruh of Sedgwick, Kan., two sons, Maurice and Leslie of Freeman; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Emma Fensel of Freeman; one brother, Henry of Sioux Falls, S. D.; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Marie Goertz Miller; two step-sisters, one step-sister-in-law, two step-brothers, and a host of relatives and friends.
