Heart Attack Fatal To Sarasota Pastor

Goshen, Ind. — Funeral services were conducted at the First Mennonite Church in Middlebury on Sept. 14 for Rev. Orie A. Kauffman, 61, Sarasota, Fla. pastor who suffered a fatal heat attack on Sept. 11. The services were conducted by Rev. Albert Miller and Rev. Willard Mayer.

Rev. Kauffman, a minister of the Conservative Mennonite Church, had lived in Florida the past eight years and was serving as pastor of the Palm Grove congregation in Sarasota. Formerly he served the Riverview congregation at White Pigeon, Mich.

His first wife, the former Irma Keim, died in 1960. His second marriage was to Clara Kauffman, who survives with sons Kenneth of Goshen, Lloyd and Paul, both of Sarasota; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Kaufman of Meridian, Miss. and Mrs. James Weber of Atmore,Ala.; six grandchildren; four brothers, John of Goshen, William and Vernon of Pigeon, Mich., and Melvin of Muscoda, Wis.; and a sister, Mary of Rocky Ford, Colo.
