Mrs. Frank J. Kater

Mrs. Helen H. Kater, early day resident of this community and wife of Frank J. Kater of Route 5, Newton, died Thursday at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. She was 72.

Mrs. Kater was born Sept. 2, 1888 in Erkarth, Germany, the daughter of Frank and Henretta Kasitz. She came to the United States as a girl and was married Nov. 12, 1910 at Elbing.

She was a member of the Congregational-Evangelical and Reformed Church and the Women's Fellowship.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kater is survived by a son, Walter, of California; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Lydia) Roux of rural Newton; six brothers, Bob Kasitz of Newton, William Kasitz of Walton, Walter Kasitz of LaMesa, Calif., August and Jake Kasitz of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. at the Reformed Church with the Rev. Alfred H. Bartter officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Draper's Funeral Home prior to the services.
