CORNELIUS E. KASPER

Cornelius E. Kasper, son of Sarah and Gerhard Kasper, was born in Warsaw, Poland, Dec. 27, 1867. He passed away in the home of his daughter, Sarah Lena Roth on Feb. 4, 1956, at the age of 88 years, one month and seven days.

He was eight years old when his parents came to America and settled in the Bethel Mennonite community near Fortuna, Mo. As a young man he worked near Hillsboro, Kans. In 1894 he married Anna Ratzlaff, and they made their home three miles east of Fortuna. To this union were born four children: Arnold of Kansas City, Kans., Eddie of Tipton, Mo., Emma (Mrs. Willard Hart) of Versailles, and Sara Lena, (Mrs. Ed Roth) of Tipton. Both daughters are teachers in Versailles public schools. His wife preceded him in death in February 1948. Seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren survive.

He was preceded in death by Mrs. Mary Warren of Los Angeles, Mrs. Helena Jansen and Mrs. Anna Funk, both of Hillsboro, Kans.

Mr. Kasper was a member of the Tipton Methodist church. He was loved by all who knew him. He was always interested in the well being of the community and the church.
