• Funeral services were conducted at the Lehigh Mennonite Church on June 26 for Mrs. John J. Kasper, 73, who was fatally injured in a two-car collision south of McPherson on Friday, June 22. The services were in charge of Rev. Peter Goering of Moundridge. Mrs. Kasper, the former Carrie Stubby and a native of Marion County, was a passenger in a car driven by her sister, Mrs. H. E. Funk of Wichita, when it collided with a car driven by Mrs. Erma Schrag. Mrs. Kasper died three hours later in a McPherson hospital. Mrs. Funk was hospitalized with a fractured arm and severe lacerations, while Mrs. Schrag and two sons, ages 5 and 3 , were released after treatment for minor injuries. Mrs. Kasper leaves her husband, of Newton, two sons and two daughters.
