SUSANNA KASDORF

Susanna Kasdorf died Apr. 15. She was born to Wilhelm and Justina Unruh Sept. 17, 1911 in Glyaden, Siberia. When she was 10, her father died of typhus. She married Peter Kasdorf at 17. They emigrated to Morden, Man., where they farmed. In 1950 they sold their farm and moved to Niverville, Man. They accepted Jesus, were baptized and joined Morden MB Church. Later they transferred to Niverville MB Church. Rheumatic fever in her early 40s left her with a chronic heart condition. Glaucoma left her virtually blind in her final years. She enjoyed work on the farm, gardening, knitting, crocheting and quilting (for her family and MCC). She is remembered as a strong, stoic woman who loved God, her family and friends. Predeceased by Peter, son Corny, 2 grandsons, 5 brothers and 3 sisters, she is mourned by sons John and Frank of Winnipeg, Henry, Jake and Abe of Niverville, and Peter of Langley; daughters Jessie Martens of Winnipeg, Anne Neufeld of Steinbach, Man., Helen Koslowsky, Frieda Loeppky, Linda Loeppky and Betty of Niverville, Susan Martens of Abbotsford, B.C., Mary Loeppky of Kelowna, B.C. and Hilda of Florida; 42 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 1 sister; 1 brother. The funeral was Apr. 19 in Fourth Ave. Bible Church, Niverville, with Rick McCorkindale, Ewald Unruh and Mary Dyck ministering.
