— W. E. Kafton, a farmer living north of Peabody, last week lost his life through an accident with his tractor. He had started the motor to demonstrate it to a neighbor who was thinking of buying it. In some way the clutch became engaged, causing the machine to go forward in such a way that Kafton's foot was caught under the wheel. The sharp lugs then went over his whole body before the machine could be stopped. Funeral services were held last Thursday.
