Mrs. Jacob H. Johnson

Mrs. Elsie Johnson, daughter of Benj. (Lena Becker) Buller, was born June 28, 1865, in Poland where she grew up to the age of 10 years, after which she with her parents moved to the United States of America and settled in the state of Kansas.

May 15, 1885, she was united in marriage with Jacob H. Johnson to which union were born 13 children. Five preceded her in death, including John who passed away 3 years ago.

On August 6, 1887, she was baptized by Rev. John Ratzlaff.

She lived with her husband and family in McPherson county, Kansas, 20 years and from there moved to Oklahoma and located one mile south and two miles est of Goltry where they have made their home for the last 32 years.

In the beginning of last September she became sick and never recovered until death relieved her suffering on April 9. Her age was 72 years, 9 months and 11 days. She leaves to mourn, her husband and 8 children, William, Lena, Cora, Carrie, all of Goltry; Henry of the University of Missouri, Howard of Wichita, Kans., Alpha of Elreno, Okla., and Ada of Lahoma, 32 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Her last desire and prayer was, "Lord help and deliver me from my present suffering."

She resteth now. No more her breast
   Heaves with its weary breath;
Pain sits no longer on the brow
   Where lies the calm of death.
Sunk to her rest like tired child,
   She lies in slumber deep,
Soft folded in the arms of Him
   Who giveth His beloved sleep.
