Pioneer Settler Died In Washington

Corn, Okla. — Word was received here from Port Angeles, Wash, of the death of Mrs. Katherine Janzen, 83, mother of Mrs. D. C. Heidebrecht of Corn, on May 22. Her passing occurred at a nursing home one week after she suffered a stroke of paralysis. Funeral services were held at Port Angeles on May 27.

Mrs. Janzen was one of the pioneer immigrants from Russia who settled at Goessel, Kansas. Following her marriage she lived for 20 years at Chinook, Mont., moving from that place to Port Angeles.

Besides the daughter living here, she is survived by three sons, Dan of Port Angeles, John of Inman, Kansas, Bill of Bremerton, Wash., and two other daughters, Mrs. Alex Magathan of Horton, Kans. and Mrs. Ben Prescott of Jacksonville, Fla. Mr. Janzen died in 1930.
