Native of Minnesota Dies at Lynden, Wash.

Lynden, Wash. — Memorial services were held at the Glendale Mennonite Church Nov. 12 for Henry Janzen, 85, a resident here since 1948 who died Nov. 10 after an extended illness. The body was sent to Madera, Calif., his former home, for final services and burial.

Mr. Janzen was born and raised at Mt. Lake, Minn. On Nov. 7, 1907 he was married to Susanna Dirks, and they celebrated their golden wedding in 1957. They lived for many years in California where they raised their family. Since coming here they have been active in the Glendale church, and have done much to help establish this young congregation.

Surviving in addition to the widow are six of their eight children, Paul, Albert and Henry Janzen, Mrs. Jack Brandt, Mrs. Victor Lebedeff, and Mrs. Earl Egbert, all living in California. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

HENRY JANZEN

A native of Minnesota, Mr. Janzen lived at Madera, Calif. from 1912 to 1943, when he retired from farming and moved to Lynden, Wash. Here he and his wife spent 15 years.

He was a member of the Glendale Mennonite Church where funeral services were conducted. The body was then sent to Madera where he was buried in the Arbor Vitae Cemetery.

Surviving are his widow, Susanna ; three sons, Paul of Madera, Henry of Fresno, and Albert of Hughson; the daughters, Luise Lebedeff [sic Louise Lebedoff] of Santa Rosa, Martha Brandt of Reedley, and Edna Egbert of Aptos, all in California; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. — The Family.
