EARLY PIONEER IN SASKATCHEWAN DEAD AT AGE NINETY-SEVEN

Winkler, Manitoba. — Mrs. Helena Janzen, pioneer Immigrant to the U. S. and Canada, passed away at the Bethania old people's home near Winnipeg on Oct. 23 at the age of 97. Funeral services were held at the Mennonite Brethren church here on Oct 26.

Born in South Russia Oct 19, 1853, she came to the U. S. in 1893 and lived in Nebraska, Minnesota, and North Dakota. In 1910 she and her late husband homesteaded at Rush Lake, Sask. She had been a member of the M. B. church for 75 years.

There are no survivors in the immediate family, although a number of relatives live in California.
