CORNELIUS A. JANZEN

Cornelius A. Janzen was born in the Ukraine, on August 15, 1892, the son of Aron and Katherine (nee Wedel) Janzen. He accepted Christ as his personal Saviour at the age of 15 and was baptized and accepted into the MB Church at Gnadenthal.

On July 11, 1913 he was married to Anna Braun. Four sons and five daughters were born to this union. The family emigrated from Russia in August of 1926, living for a short time at Foam Lake, Saskatchewan and later at Morden, Manitoba. In October, 1944 they left the prairies and moved to Kelowna, B.C.

Mr. Janzen became suddenly ill on Friday, September 30 and passed to his reward on October 8.

He leaves to mourn, his wife Anna; one son, Frank, a missionary in Panama; three daughters: Mrs. Louise Kyle, Kelowna, Mrs. Kay Slawek, California, and Mrs. Mary Unger of Vancouver; fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sons and two daughters. He had reached the age of 74 years, one month and fifteen days.

The dedicated services of Mr. Janzen, both as Sunday school teacher and Bible instructor, will long be remembered and appreciated by the Kelowna MB Church.
