PETER JANTZEN

Peter Jantzen was born on Oct. 10, 1915 to John and Barbara (Jantzen) Jantzen on a farm near Plymouth, Neb. Most of his life was spent on the farm. he also attended a rural grade school.

On May 16, 1937 he was baptized by Elder Franz Albrecht and joined the First Mennonte church of Beatrice, Neb., of which he was a member at the time of his deatrh. At the time of his baptism the verse Rev. 2:10 was given to him: "Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of (righteousness) life." When his father was still living he taught him how to be helpful in many ways. After the deatrh of his parents he made his home with his two sisters. In 1954, increasing epileptic seizures made it necessary for him to move to the Evangelical Emmaus Home at Marthasville, Mo. Here also he tried to be helpful with whatever he was able to do.

On Sept. 8, 1961 he passed away suddenly at the age of 45 years and 11 months.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister. He is survived by three sisters, Barbara, Mrs. G. B. Ensz and her husband, Miss Elizabeth Jantzen and Miss Agatha Jantzen, and nephews and nieces.
