HELEN JANTZEN

(Mrs.) Helen Jantzen passed into the presence of the Lord on March 18 at the age of 90. The funeral was held on March 22 in the Fraserview MB Church of Vancouver, B.C. Officiating was Rev. P. R. Toews.

Mrs. Jantzen was born in Lichtfeld, Molotschna, South Russia to John and Helen Klippenstein. She accepted the Lord as her Saviour at the age of 15 and was baptized into the MB church where she remained a faithful member to the end. She was a living testimony to her Lord, and always had an open heart and home for people.

On October 10, 1898 she was married to Johann Jantzen, who predeceased her in 1948 after 50 years of married life. The Lord blessed them with 12 children, five of whom died in infancy, and two (Mrs. John Janzen of Man. and Mrs. H. Spenst of Yarrow) in late years.

In 1925 they migrated to Canada first to Gruenthal, Man., and then to Yarrow, B.C. After her husband's death Mrs. Jantzen moved to Vancouver to be with her children, later to Tabor Home Clearbrook, and then ended the last chapter of her life in Menno Hospital, Abbotsford, B.C.

Now she sees face to face the One for whom she had been waiting so long. She leaves to mourn, one brother, Mr. P. Klippenstein of Reedley, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. K. Wittenberg of Vancouver, B.C., Mrs. H. Enns of Yarrow B.C.; two sons, John Jantzen of Richmond, B.C., and Jacob Jantzen of Vancouver, and their families; three daughters, (Mrs.) Anna Schartner of Russia; (Mrs.) Agatha Dyck of Vancouver; (Mrs.) Betty Martens of Richmond; 26 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
