MRS. HELEN JANTZEN

Our mother, Helen Albrecht Jantzen, was born July 28,1878, in the village of Lindenau, near Saratov, Russia. She was the daughter of Heinrich and Helen Albrecht, nee Penner.

On Sept. 12, 1884, she arrived at Beatrice, Nebraska with her parents and others. She attended the parochial school here near the church.

On June 3,1895, she was baptized upon the confession of her faith by Elder Gerhard Penner, and became a member of the Mennonite church.

On Dec. 29, 1904, she was married to David Jantzen. They made their home on a farm east of Plymouth. This union was blessed with four sons and two daughters.

On March 15, 1949, her husband passed away suddenly, but her faith in a living Saviour helped her bear this sorrow. On Monday after Easter she did not feel well, but she wanted to attend the German services in church. Then her condition became worse, and she was taken to the hospital Wednesday evening, April 16, where in spite of all that the doctor and nurses did for her she did not improve. On Saturday at 2:25 p.m. she departed to be with the Lord.

She is survived by four sons and two daughters, two daughters-in-law, three grandchildren, one brother and other relatives and friends.

She attained the age of 73 years, eight months, and 22 days. — The Children.
