Employee of Petroleum Plant Killed in Fire

Hennessey, Okla. — A $250,000 explosion and fire at the Continental Oil Company liquified petroleum plant near Hennessey last Saturday killed Bill E. Joe Jantzen, 26, of Hennessey. At the time of the fire Jantzen was the only employee on duty.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the New Hopedale Mennonite Church of Meno, of which he was a member.

Mr. Jantzen was a native of Okeene and graduated from the Oklahoma Bible Academy at Meno. He also attended Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kan. and graduated from Okmulgee Tech as a diesel engineer.

Survivors include his widow Joan and a son Travis of the home; and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Jantzen of Meno.
