RUDY F. JANTZ

Rudy F. Jantz, 83, of Inola, Okla., died May 17, 1997, at his home. He was born Sept. 2, 1913, in Marion County, Kan., the son of Ferdinand J. and Anna (Friesen) Jantz.

He attended school in Mayes County. He had lived in Oklahoma since 1914. He and Harpa Eleanor Schmidt were united in marriage on April 26, 1941, in Inola.

Rudy was a farmer who loved to fish. He was a friend to everyone, and was never afraid to talk to anyone he didn’t know. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Eden Mennonite Church in Inola.

Survivors include two sons, Harvey and wife Verna of Inola and Curtis and wife Marcia of Willow Springs, Mo.; a daughter, Sylvia Jantz of Lynnwood, Wash.; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Alvin of Newton, Kan., Herman of Lexington, Neb., and Theodore of Reseda, Calif.; three sisters, Lena Penner of Chouteau and Selma Ladwig and Elvera Pankratz both of Inola.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Harpa, in 1977; a son Calvin Dale; a brother, Victor; and threw sisters, Dora, Hana and Anna.
