Hillsboro, Kan. — Henry A. Jantz, 98, one of the oldest pioneers of this area, passed away in the hospital at Herington on Nov. 14. Funeral services were held at the Friedenstal Mennonite Church on Saturday, Nov. 18.
Born in Poland March 4, 1863, Mr. Jantz came to America with his parents when he was nine years old.
In 1910 he helped organize the Friedenstal Mennonite Church, donating the land on which the church is located. Eight of his 11 children are still living.
