ABRAHAM P. JANTZ

Abraham P. Jantz, son of Peter and Agnes Jantz, was born May 22, 1885, near Parker, Turner County, South Dakota, and passed away April 24, 1957, reaching the age of 71 years, 11 months and two days.

He grew to early manhood at Parker and moved with his parents to Waldheim, Sask. in 1907. In 1908 he found his helpmeet there in Elisabeth Willems, to whom he was married, Elisabeth being a daughter of Cornelius Willems of that place. He took up a homestead near Langham, Sask. where they lived for about 15 years, after which they with their family moved to Reedley, Calif. in 1923. Some years later they moved to the community near Outler, Calif. east of Dinuba, where he lived until his death.

His wife Elisabeth passed away in 1946, which left him quite lonely. He spent about 10 days in the hospital before he passed on. His death was due to a liver ailment.

This union was blessed with four children, three daughters and one son; Mrs. Agnes Reimer of Reedley, Calif., a daughter May, living with her family in San Diego, Calif., Vera Jantz, who is in Stockton, Calif., and Ed jantz of Reedley. One granddaughter also survives.

He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, and one granddaughter.

Also surviving are eight brothers and three sisters: Peter Jantz, Crooked Creek, Alta., David Jantz, Jacob Jantz and Henry Jantz of Abbotsford, B. C., Tobe Jantz of Three Hills, Alberta, Sam Jantz of Swalwell, Alberta, Neil Jantz of Calgary, Alberta, John Jantz of Livingston, Calif., Mrs. Mary Classen of Abbotsford, B. C., mrs. Anna Unruh of Swalwell, Alberta, and Mrs. Noah Voth, Winton, Calif.

We commit our brother into the hands of a loving God, who can do all things well, and if it pleased our Lord to accept him, we shall meet him again at that great day.

Funeral services were conducted in the Dopkins Funeral Chapel in Dinuba, Calif. of April 26 at 2 p.m. with Min. Paul Lehmann officiating. He read the 90th Psalm for the opening, after which a song was sung led by the soloist, Mrs. Orville Fast. Min. Paul Lehmann read for his text Psalms 8, upon which he based his message.

Burial was made in the Smith-Mountain cemetery near the grave of his companion. At the cemetery Min. Lehmann read James 1:10-20, making a few remarks and leading in prayer. — The Family.
