MRS. LYDIA ISAAK

Mrs. Lydia Isaak passed away on February 16 in the Vancouver Hospital following a stroke in September of 1966, and subsequent illness and suffering. She was born in Molotchna, Russia on August 21, 18S7, the daughter of Adolf and Agatha Pidde (nee Bender). Most of her youth was spent in the Russian Caucasus. In 1908 she accepted Christ as Saviour and was baptized and accepted into the local church. In 1909 she was united in marriage to Cornelius Isaak and in 1912 settled in Siberia. In 1924 they emigrated to Canada wIth 7 children and settled in Plum Coulee, Manitoba. In 1926 the eldest son was lost in a drowning accident, causing deep sorrow to the family. In 1940 the family moved to B.C. spending 12 years at Yarrow and the remainder of the time in Chilliwack. Another son, Peter, met accidental death here while at work. Prolonged suffering brought a longing to go "home" to Mrs. Isaak. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Cornelius Isaak, her sons, Abe, Chilliwack, Corny, Aldergrove, John. Chilliwack; her daughters, Mary (Mrs. I. Friesen), of Chilliwack, Lydia (Mrs. Jake Duerksen), Clearbrook, daughter-in-law, Mrs. Pete Isaak, Sardis, 13 grandchildren, three great-grand children and one sister, Mrs. Henry Tessman, Chilliwack.
