Jake Isaak

Jake Isaak of Sardis, B.C. passed away Jan. 30. He was born in the U.S.S.R. When he was 8, the family moved from Tiege, U.S.S.R. to Miami, Man. They worked on a farm until moving to B.C. in 1942. He married Elizabeth Pauls in 1945. He accepted the Lord at a Bible camp in Gimli, Man. and was later baptized, joining Greendale MB Church in Sardis. He was soon active as Sunday school superintendent, mid-week program director and statistician. He was also involved in the tape ministry and other church activities. He had his own business as a mechanic. Here he met many people. He loved people. He had many hobbies: model railroad, fishing, camping, making wooden toys and cars and photography. He was always fixing things. Predeceased by 2 sons, 1 in infancy and 1 at 16, 1 granddaughter and 1 brother, he is mourned by his wife; children June Dawes of Abbotsford, B.C., Elaine Dickinson of Vancouver, Joyce Warkentine of Surrey, B.C., Janet Mammel of Sardis and Norman of Surrey; 7 grandchildren and 2 brothers. The funeral was Feb. 2 in Greendale MB Church, with Len Doerksen and Dave Froese ministering.
