ARTHUR C. ISAAK

Arthur C. Isaak of Sellersville, Pa., died while jogging June 27, 1992. He was born in Aberdeen, Idaho, on May 31, 1928, to the late Peter and Eva Dirks Isaak.

He was baptized June 13, 1943, by Philip Wedel and joined the Aberdeen Mennonite Church. He married Marjorie Linscheid on June 9, 1952.

He graduated in 1951 from Bethel College in North Newton, Kan., and from Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Chicago in 1958. He served as teacher and assistant pastor at Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson, Neb., from 1951-55. From 1958-64 he was director of religious education at Zion Mennonite Church in Souderton, Pa. From 1964 until his death he was a psychodrama therapist at the Penn Foundation for Mental Health in Sellersville.

He was a member of West Swamp Mennonite Church of Quakertown, Pa., where he served as choir director and Sunday school teacher. He was also active on various committees in the Eastern District Conference (GC). He was serving on the peace and social concerns committee of the Eastern District at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his stepmother, Kathryn Becker Issak; two daughters, Kristin, wife of Tim Neufeld of Goshen, Ind., and Gretchen Isaak of Sellersville; one son, Garth Hunt Isaak, husband of Melissa Hunt Isaak, of Philadelphia; one grandson; six brothers, Elmer, Harold and Roland Isaak, all of Aberdeen, Idaho, Paul of Rocky Ford, Colo., Irvin of Reedley, Calif., and Walter of Cottonwood, Idaho; and two sisters, Margaret, wife of Clint Krehbiel of Aberdeen, Idaho, and Ruth Isaak of Yakima, Wash.

Funeral services were held June 30, 1992, at West Swamp Church, with private interment in the church cemetery.

Art Isaak, 64, West Swamp Church, Quakertown, Pa., died June 27 in Sellersville, Pa. He served as assistant pastor at Bethesda Church, Henderson, Neb., and directed religious education at Zion Church, Souderton, Pa. Since 1964 he was a therapist at Penn Foundation. He is survived by Marjorie, his wife, daughters Gretchen Isaak and Kristin Neufeld, and son Garth Isaak.
