MRS. AGANETHA ISAAK, NEE DOERKSEN

Mrs. Aganetha Isaak, nee Doerksen, 87, went to her eternal home on June 28. She was closely connected with the church since she was the wife of a former pastor of this congregation (Elmwood). With her God-given talent she served well in her family, church and constituency. In her thoughtfulness she has even prepared a life sketch for this occasion.

"I, Aganetha, was born on November 27th, 1876, in Sergejewka, S. Russia, as the second child of Jakob and Aganetha Doerksen. This is where I also spent my childhood. In my 10th year, I accepted Christ as my personal Saviour and have since then had much joy in this new life. The Lord blessed our home with 5 children. Two children have predeceased me. One daughter, Mary, died at the age of 1 1/2, and our youngest son, Abram, died during the Second World War while serving as an interpreter in a Canadian Hospital in Belgium. One son, Frank, with his wife Martha, now lives in Florida; Jacob and his wife Martha, reside in Kingston, Ontario. Our daughter, Nalja, lives with me here. We also had one adopted daughter Justine, who is living in Saskatchewan at present."

Three children, 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren are left to mourn her passing.

"Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them."

Rev. Wm. Falk and Rev. I. W. Redekopp officiated at the funeral service.
