RUDOLF H. ISAAC

Rudolf H. Isaac, son of the late Abe and Katherine Goerz Isaac, was born on a farm near North Newton, Kansas, on May 17, 1896, and passed away at his home in Los Angeles, California, on October 7, 1947, at the age of 51 years.

He, with his parents, came to Upland in 1909. At the age of 17 he was baptized by Rev. M. M. Horsch and became a member of the Upland Mennonite church, which membership he retained until his death. In 1916 he was married to Clara Voth, daughter of Rev. J. J. Voth, Upland. Since 1930 he and his family had lived in Los Angeles, where he was associated with the Holland dairies until four years ago when ill health caused him to retire. He was a victim of multiple sclerosis, a malady that still baffles the medical profession.

Survivors are his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Wallace Smith and Misses Catherine and Nancy Isaac; a son, Hal; and a grandson, Gary Smith, all of Los Angeles.

Five sisters, Mrs. Anna Toews and Mrs. Susan Reimer, Upland, Mrs. Agnes Green of Hydro, Okla., Mrs. Helen Simpkinson of Northridge, Mrs. Gertrude Hillendahl of Oakland; two brothers, J. H. Isaac, Sacramento, and T. J. Isaac, Baldwin Park; and a half sister, Mrs. Marie Thiessen of ElMonte, also survive.

Funeral services were held at Pierce Brothers chapel, with interment in Inglewood cemetery.
