HENRY J. ISAAC

Henry J. Isaac, son of Jacob F. and Kathrina Friesen Isaac, was born on Jan. 17, 1905 at Fairbury, Neb. His boyhood years were spent on a farm southeast of Meade, Kan.

Upon the confession of his faith in Christ as personal Savior he was baptized on July 1, 1923 by his father, Rev. Jacob F. Isaac. He was received as a member of the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church at Meade on Jan. 10, 1945 and remained a faithful member until death. He was a trustee for a number of years and also served on the Church Building Committee.

He had a warm heart toward home and foreign missions. His favorite Bible verse was Psalm 37:5.

He was united in marriage with Margaret Classen on April 30, 1925. They settled on a farm southeast of Meade where they lived until 1960, when they moved to Meade. Dad continued to be active on the farm and also in community affairs.

Mom and dad shared many joys and sorrows for 45 years. After a period of illness we were indeed thankful for restored health. During the last years of his life Dad enjoyed helping his children and grandchildren in their respective work and activities.

He passed away suddenly as a result of a heart attack on Oct. 31 while working with his grandson at the home place, reaching the age of 65 years, nine months and 14 days. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Margaret; five children, Esther and husband Eldo Wiens, Harvey and wife Ruth, Rosella and husband Frank Ediger, all of Meade, Erna of Hutchinson, and Don and wife Irene of Meade; 14 grandchildren; his step-mother, Mrs. Jacob F. Isaac; six brothers and two sisters, Margaret (Mrs. W. W. Loewen), Pete, Kathryn (Mrs. Dick Classen), John, Jake, Ben, George and Abe, all of Meade; two half-brothers, Levi of Liberal and Alvin of Elbing, and a host of relatives and friends.

Two infant children, his mother, father, the late Rev. Jacob F. Isaac who passed away on Aug. 14, 1970, and his brother, Dick, preceded him in death.

We mourn, but not as those who have no hope — The Family.
