MRS. ELMIRA IMHOFF

Elmira (Schertz) Imhoff, daughter of Manuel [Emanuel] D. and Elizabeth (Nofsinger) Schertz, was born Dec. 7, 1908 in Woodford County, Ill. She passed to her eternal reward on Feb. 13, 1965, at Washington, Ill., at the age of 56 years, two months and six days.

On Feb 3, 1931 she was united in marriage to Peter S. Imhoff who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ferne Bachman of Metamora, Ill., and one son, Kenneth Imhoff of Lincoln, Ill.; her father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Manuel D. Schertz of Washington; two sisters, Mrs. John Byler of Washington and Mrs. John Oyer of Goshen, Ind.; and four grandchildren. Her mother died in 1918.

Elmira chose to unite with the Christian faith in her youth and held membership in the Mennonite Church, where she served Christ faithfully and to the fullest of her ability till the end.

Her death followed an extensive experience with problematic health, but in her submission to God's will she expressed assurance that “all things work together for good for those who love God . . .”

She was a member of the Metamora Mennonite Church, where the funeral services were conducted Feb. 15, Rev. Roy Bucher officiating. The body was laid to rest in the Hickory Point Cemetery.
