Girl Who Received Liver Transplant Dies
Sugarcreek, Ohio. — Twelve-year-old Krista Hummel died July 26 at University Hospital in Denver, Colo. where she had undergone a liver transplant operation on May 11. Earlier in July doctors performed two long operations in an effort to stop hemorrhaging in the lower intestinal tract.
Krista was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Dean Hummel of Athens and formerly of Berlin. The father is chairman of the education counseling department at Ohio University.
Graveside services were held at Killbuck Cemetery.
