Two Oklahoma Youths Killed When Car Hits Moving Freight Train

DOUBLE FUNERAL HELD AT CORN M. B. CHURCH

Corn, Okla. — Double funeral services were conducted at the Mennonite Brethren Church here Dec. 18 for Lee Henry Huebert, 23, and Burton Gene Engel, 25, who were instantly killed the morning of Dec. 14 when their car crashed into a moving freight train a mile east of Clinton.

It is believed a heavy fog obscured their view of the crossing and train. Their car was caught under a freight car and dragged come [sic] distance. Another auto following close behind narrowly missed the same fate, but the driver was able to turn to one side and the car glanced off the train.

Both young men were graduates of the local high school and were students at Southwestern State College, Weatherford.

Lee Henry is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. K. Huebert of Corn; two sisters and one brother; and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Huebert and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Flaming of Corn. Burton leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Engel of Corn, four sisters and three brothers.

The services were in charge of Rev. J. P. Kliewer, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. Henry Hege of Geary and Rev. T. l. Nussbaum of Corn.
