— Funeral services were held at the Simmons Chapel in Kansas City, Kan. on Dec. 2 for Mrs. Charles Hudspeth, 58, who died Nov. 28 of a heart attack. Rev. Glen Yoder of the Argentina [sic Argentine] Mennonite Church in Kansas City officiated. Mrs. Hudspeth was the former Stella Pankratz, daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Frank G. Pankratz. Those from this area attending the funeral were brothers and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Pankratz of Newton, Mrs. John Jantzen of Burrton and Ernest Pankratz of Hutchinson.

MRS. STELLA HUDSPETH

Mrs. Stella (Pankratz) Hudspeth, daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Frank G. Pankratz, was born at Bruderthal near Hillsboro, Kan. on June 7, 1900. She received her education at a school for deaf mutes in Olathe, Kan.

She was baptized upon confession of her faith in Jesus christ on May 23, 1926, by Rev. P. P. Buller, and became a member of the Mennonite Church at Goessel, Kan.

On June 14, 1931, she was united in marriage to Charles Hudspeth of Kansas City, Kan. To this union were born two children.

Stella entered the hospital on Nov. 14, 1958, where she was treated for an infection. Being somewhat improved, she was released and went home where she enjoyed her home and family for four days. She died of a heart attack on Nov. 28, 1958, at the age of 58 years.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Charles; two children, Velma (Mrs. Bob Faris) of Raytown, Mo., and Robert of the home, 1511 Federal Ave., Kansas City, Kan.; one grandson, Michel Faris; three brothers and three sisters, Roland Pankratz of Newton, Kan., Edward of Hutchinson, Kan., Helen (Mrs. John Janzen) of Burrton, Kan., Ruth (Mrs. Howard Forshey [sic Forshay]) of Merriam, Kan., and Ella (Mrs. Albert Schmidt) of Omaha, Nebr. Her parents, three brothers, Willard, Ezra and Otto, and two sisters, Alma and Lorna, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 on Dec. 2, 1958, at the Simmons Chapel, with Rev. Glen Yoder officiating. Soloist and organist was Mrs. Pearl Fry. Interment was made at the Maple Hill Cemetery.
