WILSON ESSER HUBER

Wilson Esser Huber, son of Charles and Catharine Esser Huber, was born November 14, 1866, in Nockamixon township, Bucks county, Pennsylvania. On November 29, 1890 he married Catharine Wismer of Plumstead township. They had one daughter, Christine, and five sons, Russell, Horace, Earl, Norman and Paul.

On November 11, 1893, he and his wife were baptized on confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior by Elder Allen M. Fretz, and received into the membership of the Deep Run Mennonite congregation of the Eastern Conference. Since 1897 he was a farmer in Plumstead Township.

Although of a retiring disposition, he was a kind and generous man. Ailing for some time and undergoing treatment for several weeks, he fell asleep late Thursday afternoon, July 5, 1951, at the age of 84 years.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine; his son, Paul; his wife, who passed on May 22, 1943; and his son, Russell, who passed on July 26, 1947.

Those who remain are his sons, Horace, Earl, and Norman; his daughters-in-law, Mrs. Russell Huber and Mrs. Earl Huber; three grandchildren, and four brothers and one sister.

The funeral was held on July 9, 1951 at a Doylestown funeral home, and interment was at the Deep Run Mennonite cemetery.

Pastor J. Herbert Fretz preached on Hebrew's 4:9.
