MRS. MATTIE HOWITT

Mattie Stutzman Howitt, daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara Stutzman passed away at her home in Beaverdam, Pa. Aug. 25 after an illness of three months. She was born in Milford, Nebr. where she grew to womanhood.

She was married to William A. Howitt in , Colo. on Dec. 17, 1899. Had she lived until this Dec. 17, they would have celebrated their 60th anniversary.

She was a faithful member of the Beaverdam Mennonite church, and attended the worship services whenever her health permitted. She was a wonderful wife and mother and is greatly missed by her family, bu [sic']' we have the joy of knowing she is with the Lord, where she need never have any more pain.

She is survived by her husband, William; two daughters, Mrs. Laurence Page of Kent, Ohio and Mrs. Dean Klopfenstein of Wattsburg, Pa.; one son, William Howett, Jr. of Kent, Ohio, nine grandchildren, two brothers, Lloyd Stutzman of Mantua, Ohio and James Stutzman of Schwenksville, Pa.; one sister, Mrs. Eldon Miller of Hudson, Ohio; one aunt, Mrs. Fannie Schweitzer of Corry, Pa.

Funeral services were held at the Beaverdam church on Aug. 28 with Alfred Brenner of Spartanburg, Pa. and Richard Hostetler in charge. Interment was made in the Beaverdam cemetery.
