Lancaster County Bishop Called Away in Death
Ephrata, Pa. — Funeral services for Joseph E. Hostetter, long-time minister and bishop of the Old Order Mennonite Church, were held at Groffdale on March 6. The services were widely attended.
Bishop Hostetter, who resided in Ephrata, died unexpectedly on March 2, having been active until only a short time before his death. He had been a minister for at least 40 years.
The Old Order church, in which Bishop Hostetter served, is known locally as the Horning Mennonite Church.
