MRS. KATIE E. HOSTETER [sic HOSTETLER]

Katie E. Hostetler passed away Feb. 4, 1955, at the Lewistown, Pa., hospital, after a prolonged illness.

She was born March 7, 1877, daughter of the late Jonas D. and Leah R. Yoder of Belleville, Pa., where she was born and lived. Her husband, John Y. Hostetler, passed away May 10, 1954.

Surviving are two sons, Harvey J. of Belleville and John M. of Sarasota, Fla.; two daughters, Mary (Mrs. John Mc.) Yoder, Belleville, and Esther at home, who faithfully cared for her; three foster children, Helen Buchka and Herbert Wilson of Belleville, and Harold Wilson of Alanta [sic Atlanta], Georgia; one sister, Mrs. Crist (Frona) Smoker of Belleville; one brother, Harvey P. Yoder of Lewistown; and six grandchildren.

She accepted Christ early in life and became affiliated with the Locust Grove Mennonite church, and remained faithful untill [sic] death.

She lived a life of service, being Christian mother to her own children and the orphaned, always extending hospitality to many in her home. She served in the Sunday school for a number of years.

Funeral services were held at the home in charge of Erie Renno and Jacob Weirich. Burial was made in the Locust Grove cemetery.
