Missionary To India Called Away in Death

MRS. ALVIN HOSTETLER HAD UNDERGONE SURGERY FOR BACK INJURY

Goshen, Ind. — Complications following surgery for a spinal injury resulted in the death of Mrs. Alvin Hostetler, missionary to India under the (Old) Mennonite Church, on Oct. 2 according to word received here.

She passed away at a Presbyterian hospital in India. According to information received earlier at the mission headquarters in Elkhart, her husband and daughter Carol Jewell had been staying with her at the hospital in Ludhiana, U.P., following the operation.

She was the former Emma Helen Christner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi D. Christner of Topeka. Surviving in addition to her parents, husband and daughter are another daughter, Gloria Joyce, 8, four sisters and eight brothers.
