AMOS S. HOSTETLER

Amos S. Hostetler, son of Samuel S. and Sarah Hostetler, was born in LaGrange County, Indiana on January 21, 1875. On April 25, 1961 he passed away at his home near Middlebury, Ind., where he lived all his married life, age 86 years, three months, and four days.

On March 9, 1902 he married Ida (Yoder) Nusbaum, who preceded him in death in October 1954. To this union were born the following children: Elva of Middlebury, Dora, Mrs. Henry Miller of Goshen, Mabel of Elkhart, Oscar and Payson of Middlebury, and Orpha of Glenwood Springs, Colo. A daughter Florence preceded him in March 1914. Also surviving are a step-daughter, Millie, Mrs. Sanford Mishler of Shipshewana, six grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and 16 step-great-grandchildren. Two grandchildren preceded him in death.

He also leaves two brothers, Levi and Henry, and a sister Sarah, Mrs. G. A. Schreck, all of Goshen. The following brothers and sisters preceded him: Jacob, Amanda, Samuel, Daniel, Fannie, and Lizzie.

He accepted Christ as his Saviour in his youth and united with the Forks Mennonite Church where he was a faithful member.

Funeral services were held April 27 at the Forks Church with Earley C. Bontrager and Donald Yoder officiating. Interment was made in Pashan Cemetery.
