MAGDALENE HORST

Magdalene Horst, daughter of Frances [sic Francis] W. and Margaret Hoover Horst, was born Nov. 7, 1881 in Lancaster County, Pa., and passed away at the Schowalter Villa, Hesston, Kan., on Nov. 4, 1964 at the age of 82 years, 12 months and 27 days. When she was but a small child her parents moved to Harvey County, Kan., where most of her life was spent.

She became a Christian at an early age and continued a consistent member of the Mennonite Church throughout life. Beginning in 1907 she spent about 10 years in mission service in Kansas City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mary Risser and Tillie Diener, and two brothers, Amon and Titus. Surviving are one sister Ada Reiff, and four brothers, Silas of South English, Iowa, Gaius of Flint, Mich., Rufus of Kansas City, and Clayton of Elkhart, Ind.

Funeral services were conducted at the Pennsylvania Mennonite Church on Nov. 6, 1964 in charge of Earl Buckwalter and Donald King. Interment was in the church cemetery.
