MRS. MICHAEL M. HORSCH

Mrs. Lydia M. Horsch, nee Musselman, 83, of Upland, Calif., died Oct. 16, 1963, Mrs. Horsch, widow of the late Rev. Michael M. Horsch, was born Jan. 28, 1880, in Clay Center, Kan. She was baptized in the spring of 18996 and became a member of the Methodist Church.

Upon completion of high school she went into nurses training in Kansas City. Following her training she became a deaconess in the Methodist Church and served in that capacity in Kansas City until her marriage to Rev. M. M. Horsch.

Rev. and Mrs. Horsch were married Sept. 12, 1926 while Rev. Horsch was serving as the pastor of the First Mennonite Church of Upland. In 1927 they moved to Beatrice, Neb. where Rev. Horsch served as pastor of the Beatrice Mennonite Church, until 1939. They retired to Upland, Calif., where after two years Rev. Horsch went to his eternal reward. Mrs. Horsch continued to reside in Upland where she was an active member of the First Mennonite Church. For the last year and a half she has been an invalid in a rest home.

Survivors include two step-daughters, Ruth Horsch, and Monica Horsch, and a step-son, L. J. Horsch, all of Upland.

There are three sisters: Martha Musselman, Cincinnati, Ohio; Mrs. Albert Schmidt, Upland, and Mrs. William Roth, Clay Center, Kan., also a brother, Harry Musselman, Clay Center.

Rev. David Habegger, pastor of the First Mennonite Church, was in charge of the services held Oct. 18. Interment was in Bellevue Cemetery.
