FOUNDER OF “OVER 70” GET-TOGETHER DIES IN LANCASTER COUNTY
Ephrata, Pa. — Harry O. Hoover, 69, well-known retired farmer of Bareville and founder of an annual get-together for persons over 70 years of age, died at a Lancaster hospital on April 23.
Mr. Hoover initiated the gathering of older folks at his home in 1951. In recent years the summer event was held at the Bareville Fire Hall to accommodate the large crowd.
Funeral services were held at the Groffdale Mennonite Church, of which he was a member.
