Ephrata, Pa. — An estimated 1,400 persons attended funeral services at the Groffdale Mennonite Church on Oct. 13 for Franklin N. Hoover, 54, who died six days after suffering injuries in a corn harvesting accident.

Mr. Hoover was working on the farm of his brother-in-law, William Martin of Route 1, Denver, when the fatal accident occurred. He was pulling a corn picker with a tractor when his clothing caught on a lever and he was thrown to the ground.

The picker ran over him, inflicting several injuries to his chest, neck and ribs. He was admitted to the Ephrata Community Hospital where he died Oct. 10.
