— Relatives here received word of the death of Mrs. Jake (Gertrude) Hooge, 74, of Plum Coulee, Manitoba, which occurred there on Jan. 9. She had been unconscious since suffering a brain hemorrhage on Dec. 24. Her husband is a patient in the Altona, Man. hospital, suffering from an inoperable brain tumor. Mrs. Hooge was born at Whitewater, the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. G. N. Harms. She married Mr. Hooge in 1930, and they made their home at Plum Coulee. Funeral services were conducted there on Jan. 12. Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters, Mrs. Otto Driedger of Regina, Sask., Mrs. Martin Goerzen of Stoney Plain, Alberta, and Mrs. Leonard Wiebe of Winnipeg and now residing in Germany where her husband is on a teaching assignment; five sisters, Laura Harms, Mrs. Fred Klassen and Marie Harms, all of Whitewater, Sister Theodosia Harms of Newton, and Ruth Harms of Seattle, Wash.; and two brothers, Gerhard F. of Whitewater and Ernest of Homestead, Fla.
