Services For Minister Widely Attended

REV. ISAAC HOEPPNER SERVED MANITOBA CHURCH FOR 23 YEARS

Winkler, Man. — Funeral services for Rev. Isaac A. Hoeppner, 70 of Glencross, were held in the Mennonite Brethren church here Friday afternoon, Jan. 14, with Rev. P. S. Zacharias, assisted by Bishop Wm. Falk, Altona, and Rev. Henry Rempel, Steinbach, officiating.

Rev. Hoeppner, a lifelong resident of the Glencross district, passed away at his farm home jan. 10 after a brief illness. The large attendance at the funeral estimated at over 1,000, was evidence of the love and esteem in which he was held by all.

Rev. Hoeppner was born in the Village of Waldheim, 10 miles southwest of here, Sept. 25, 1884. In 1902 he married Elizabeth Wolfe. In 1907 he acquired a homestead farm on the One-Six road four miles south of Lake Minnewashta. here the Hoeppner family farmed successfully and 14 children were born to the couple.
