Home Mission Worker Dies In Tennessee

SERVICES FOR ELLEN HOCHSTETTLER HELD AT GROVELAND, ILL.

Peoria, Ill. — Ellen Adelia Hochstettler, home mission worker under the Evangelical Mennonite Conference for a number of years and a member of the Groveland Evangelical Mennonite Church near Groveland, died at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. on March 15. She had been ill for several months.

After graduation from Wheaton College, Wheaton Ill., Miss Hochstettler served faithfully as a missionary in the Smithville, Tenn. area for a little more than 20 years. She died three days before her 49th birthday.

A granddaughter of the late Rev. Peter Hochstettler, who served the Groveland congregation for about 50 years, she is survived by two sisters, Edna and Laura of Peoria.

Funeral services were conducted at Pomeroy Chapel near Smithville, and then at the home church at Groveland on March 18 with Rev. E. M. Rocke officiating.
