Youthful Bicycle Rider Killed on Indiana Road

Shipshewana, Ind. — An accident on a county road near here the evening of April 5 claimed the life of five-year-old Traci Wade Hochstetler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milford D. Hochstetler of Route 2, Shipshewana.

Police officers reported that the boy was riding his bicycle and apparently veered toward the center of the road and was hit by an oncoming car. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Lagrange County Hospital.

Surviving in addition to the parents are a brother, Chad, of the home, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ora Hochstetler of Iowa City, Ia. and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Fisher of Brighton, Ia.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Shore Mennonite Church near here, with Rev. Orvin Hooley and Rev. Harley Chupp officiating.
