FARM YOUTH INJURED NEAR SAME PLACE WHERE TWO OTHERS MET DEATH

Napanee, Ind. — Alvin D. Hochstetler, 19 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel I. Hochstetler, who was fatally injured early in December when he was struck by an automobile on the highway near his home, was the third child of the family to meet death in such a manner. The accidents which claimed the three lives also occurred near the same place.

The tragedy happened at about 5:30 in the afternoon, in a driving snowstorm. Alvin, riding his bicycle, was on the way to a nearby pond to run his trap line. He died shortly afterward in the Elkhart Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted by John Schwartz and Monroe Hochstetler, Amish minsters of the congregation of which the youth was a member.

Irvin, a brother, was killed 11 years ago, while a sister, Alma, died of injuries received in an automobile collision six year [sic] ago.
