MARY SUDERMANN HIPPLE

Mary S. Hipple, 90, died Jan. 20, 1993, at Bright Field Nursing Home, Lansdale, Pa. she formerly lived about 50 years in West Chester, Pa. She was the wife of the late Francis Hipple.

She was born in Russia to Jasha Sudermann and Amy E. (Greaves) Sudermann Enns. She graduated from Hesston (Kan.) College and was a graduate nurse of La Junta (Colo.) Hospital. She graduated from West Chester University, receiving master’s degrees in education and in arts and languages. She taught in Delaware County.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church of West Chester and enjoyed volunteering with community organizations.

Survivors include six sisters, Vera Kemp of Phoenix, Ariz., Ruth Blocksma of St. Simons Island, Calif., Haidie E. Stover of Souderton, Pa., Frieda E. Enns of Wilmington, Del., Army [sic Amy] Preckshot of Columbia, Mo., and Joanna Andres of Hesston, Kan. she was preceded in death by a sister, Justina Boyer [sic Bowyer]; and two brothers, George and Jacob Sudermann.

A graveside service was held in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, Kan.
