Mrs. John J. Hildebrand

Mrs. John J. Hildebrand, nee Tena Kroeker, was born in Fuersterwerder, South Russia, on August 16, 1862. In the year of 1876 she came to America with her parents. They settled on a farm near Inman, Kansas. In August 1885 she was baptized by Rev. John Harder and united with the Zoar Church and remained true to her faith until the end. On March 8, 1886, she was united in marriage with John J. Hildebrand. This union was blessed with four sons and three daughters of which three sons died in infancy. their wedded life was a duration of 42 years, 3 months and 18 days.

Mrs. Hildebrand became ill last winter and her condition seemed to grow worse from day to day. She was very sick the last few weeks.

Mrs. Hildebrand passed away on Tuesday, June 26, at 1:00 o'clock A. M. at the age of 64 years, 10 months and 10 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, one son, three daughters, one daughter-in-law, two sons-in-law, 17 grandchildren, one sister, two brothers and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Zoar Church last Friday afternoon. Rev. John Esau officiated and was assisted by Rev. A. G. Ensz, Rev. Peter Block. There were musical numbers by a ladies quartet and Mr. and Mrs. Crocker. The remains were laid to rest in the Zoar cemetery. Rev. Cor. Thiessen spoke at the cemetery. — Inman Review.
