<h3PETER W. HIEBNER</h3>

Peter Hiebner was born at Kleefeld, Russia on December 25,1888 to Wilhelm and Maria (nee Wedel) Hiebner. He was baptized on June 5,1905. On June 11, 1919 he married Emilie Sender.

Having escaped from the Russian persecution, the Hiebners lived and worked several years at Gronau, Germany. From there Peter went to Canada in 1925 and his wife followed some time later. After several years in the prairie provinces, they moved to Black Creek, B.C., on Vancouver Island, their home for the rest of their lives. Their last years were spent at Glacier View Home, Comox. Emilie Hiebner predeceased her husband in 1975. He passed away quietly on the evening of September 3 after a short illness. Funeral services were held at the Black Creek Mennonite Brethren Church, wit h pastor Albert Durksen ministering. He is survived by his daughter, (Mrs.) Mary Farthing of Courtenay, B.C., and five grandchildren.
